We’ve all been affected by the pandemic in different ways. As a teacher, you’ve navigated massive changes to your daily life, while continually prioritizing your students. Although we’ll never be able to repay you adequately, we’d like to recognize your efforts. We invite you to consider applying for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)—the country’s highest honors for STEM teachers. What are the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching?
The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) are dedicated to celebrating 108 exemplary STEM teachers nationwide each year with PAEMST.
Who can be nominated or apply?
This year we are honoring K-6 STEM teachers who are full-time employees of a school with at least five years of experience. Next year we will recognize 7-12 teachers.
Why nominate or apply?
Awardees receive:
- A trip to Washington D.C.,
- A certificate signed by the President,
- A $10,000 award from NSF, and
- Access to a cohort of over 5,100 award-winning teachers.
When is the deadline?
Nominations are due January 7, 2022, and applications are due by February 6, 2022.
